Lucio Nunez has been building musical
instruments for over two decades. Over the
course of his career he has constructed
various stringed instruments including lutes,
vihuelas, electric and acoustic guitars,
mandolins and charangos.
He studied guitar building with Dionisio
Vásquez Rojas, who introduced him to the
works of masters like Torres, Hauser, Fleta,
and Rodríguez, among others. He learned
the traditional techniques that mostly involve
the use of hand tools.
Since 1982 Lucio has devote most of his time
to making classical and flamenco guitars.
He works alone using only quality materials
to build several different classical and
flamenco models.
Integrating both intuition and intellect (but
mostly relying on intuition) his guitars not
only produce a well-balanced sound but also
possess clarity--a quality as important to
music as it is elusive for the guitar maker to
attain.
"Music is the ultimate goal of the luthier's art
and craft," says Lucio, "and just like music,
lutherie depends on both science and
mystery. The space between one note and
another, the way we work with sound
frequencies--that is physics. But the way
music touches our souls--that is a mystery."

top design. It offers a very round and full bass
with crisp midrange and trebles. Bright timbre
with great volume.
